In September 2008, Nan Braunschweiger took up the role as Coordinator of the International Ecumenical Peace Convocation (IEPC), the culminating point of the Decade to Overcome Violence that will formulate an "ecumenical declaration on just peace".

Nan was born in 1958 in Glasgow, Scotland and has a degree in Hotel Management from the University of Strathclyde.  She is a member of the Church of Scotland. She joined the WCC in 1988 and has held positions in the Commission on the Churches Participation in Development [CCPD], the Conference Office of the General Secretariat and Income Monitoring & Development.

Nan has organized and participated in many WCC meetings and is very excited to bring her skills and experience to coordinate the different streams, themes and processes of DOV's work through to the crucial moment of the convocation itself which she hopes will be a fruitful and meaningful experience for all involved and beyond.

Nan succeeds Geiko Müller-Fahrenholz and is committed to help achieve his vision of the convocation as a Kairos-moment when the churches, in their ecumenical fellowship, give witness to the world about the peace of God that sustains the world in spite of the violence that threatens us from all sides.
